In response to two Furry Arms occupants complaining about the freezing temperatures set for the penguin party, Ingrid proposes that they should dance with the penguins to keep warm. They resentfully give in to "Doing the Penguin", led by a bandleader penguin (voiced by Ron Marshall). Telly, Humphrey, Ingrid, and Sherry Netherland join in on the festivities of flipping flippers and falling on the ice.
An instrumental version of the song also appeared in a Sesame Street segment where kids make the city traffic "stop" and "go." (EKA: Episode 3523)
