"Dixie Wailin'" is a funeral dirge Boober composed "in honor of his own departure." He sings this song in sympathy for Junior Gorg, who has been convinced into thinking he has died in the Fraggle Rock episode "The Challenge." Per Junior's request for a "funeral dirge you can dance to," Red and Gobo increase the tempo until the song is more celebratory than sorrowful.
