Disney Channel expanded to Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden in 2003. The channel airs each day from 6:00-22:00 (CET). The same signal is broadcast to each country, with the shows either dubbed or subtitled in the local language.

The Toon Disney channel started airing in 2005, and Playhouse Disney channel started in the fall of 2006. In the fall of 2008 Toon Disney was closed and replaced by Disney XD, that are aimed at boys.

Henson productions broadcast on Disney Channel (Scandinavia) include Muppet Treasure Island, Dinosaurs, The Muppets' Wizard of Oz, Bohemian Rhapsody and dubbed versions of Bear in the Big Blue House and The Muppet Christmas Carol
