Dick Maitland is a sound effects/foley artist who has worked continuously on Sesame Street and its various spin-off specials since 1969. ]]. When Maria first gave birth to Gabi on Sesame Street, Maitland's newborn son was used for the initial episode.[1] Maitland has won eleven Emmy Awards for his work. Mr. Maitland is also the squeaky voice of Oscar's pet Slimey, operated by Marty Robinson.

Along with Barbara Wood, Roy Carch, Terry Ross, Bernard Fambrough and others he also provided the sound design for The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence and Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas.
