Diana, Princess of Wales (1961 - 1997) was the first wife of Charles, Prince of Wales Often referred to as "The People's Princess", her popularity soard with her engagement to Prince Charles. Her marriage to the prince was spoofed in Muppet Magazine issue 2 as "A Royal Romance: The Frog Prince and Lady Pi".
When talking of Diana's relationship to Queen Elizabeth II, the Daily Mail columnist Lynda Lee-Potter wrote,
