Detroit Institute of Art is the second largest municipally-owned museum in the United States, and listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Located in Michigan, it opened a permanent gallery of puppetry in December 2010.
A Kermit the Frog puppet, listed in materials as being from 1969, figured prominently into the promotional material for "Punch's Progress", an exhibit from November 19 to December 31, 2000.
A 2008 event, "Muppet Fairytales", screened The Frog Prince (1971) and The Elves and the Shoemaker (1994).
