Derek Jacobi

Derek Jacobi (b. 1938) is an acclaimed British actor and stage director who played Daedalus in The StoryTeller: Greek Myths episode "Daedalus and Icarus." He also appeared in two projects with digital effects by the Creature Shop: Jason and the Argonauts (as Phineas) and Gosford Park (as Probert).
Jacobi starred in the title role of the Masterpiece Theater series I Claudius (later spoofed on "Monsterpiece Theater"). His film credits include The Day of the Jackal, Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet, Gladiator, and Underworld: Evolution. Jacobi was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1994, and is only the second actor, after Laurence Oliver, to hold a knighthood from both England and Denmark.
