David Shiner (b. 1953) is a professional clown who began his career with Cirque du Soleil. He subsequently collaborated with Bill Irwin, first in the dialogue-free Broadway show Fool Moon, which ran from 1993 until 1999, and in the 1994 film Silent Tongue.

Shiner accompanied Irwin on Sesame Street in 1993, playing men on a park bench who learn some fancy new steps from Savion in the celebrity version of "A New Way to Walk".

Shiner's other credits include a small role as a clown in the film Lorenzo's Oil (with Susan Sarandon and Peter Ustinov) and portraying the Cat in the Hat in the Broadway musical Seussical from November 2000 until March 2001.
