David Odell is a television and film writer who was part of the writing team on The Muppet Show beginning with the third season, and also penned parody lyrics for the song "Aunty Chovy." Odell received a "special thanks" credit on The Muppet Movie and wrote the screenplay for The Dark Crystal. He is currently working on Power of the Dark Crystal.
Odell's non-Henson credits include screenplays for the feature films Supergirl and Masters of the Universe and several episodes of the TV anthology Monsters. He also directed the 1990 comedy film Martians Go Home.
