David Lynch (b. 1946) is a American film maker. Nominated for an Academy Award multiple times, Lynch is most famous for his films The Elephant Man (produced by Mel Brooks' production company), Blue Velvet, and Dune. His television series Twin Peaks was spoofed on Monsterpiece Theater.

Lynch himself received the Muppet treatment with the character of David Finch, which appears in the formentioned spoof.
