David Beckham, OBE (b. 1975) is a midfielder English soccer player. He is currently on the English national team, and captains the Los Angeles Galaxy Major League Soccer team. He is married to Victoria Adams, "Posh Spice" of the Spice Girls group.

On Sesame Street Season 39, Beckham is expected to appear with Elmo in a Word of the Day segment for "persistence". He posted on his blog on Wednesday, April 30 that: "Last week, I filmed an appearance on the children’s show Sesame Street. I can remember watching the programme when I was young, so I was delighted to be asked on to appear as a guest."
