Dan Aykroyd (b. 1952) is an Academy Award-nominated actor, comedian, writer, and musician. Aykroyd gained fame as an original cast member of Saturday Night Live, and went on to appear in feature films such as The Blues Brothers, Ghostbusters, Driving Miss Daisy, and Twilight Zone: The Movie.

Big Bird guest starred on an episode of Aykroyd's sitcom Soul Man, in the episode "The Stan Plan." Aykroyd's characer, Rev. Mike Weber, tries to get tickets to take his son to see Big Bird conduct the Boston Pops.

In 1992 Aykroyd was a guest, along with Miss Piggy, on Terry Wogan's Friday Night.
