Dame Edna Everage is a drag character portrayed by Australian comedian Barry Humphries, whom she refers to as her manager. She has written numerous books, appeared on Broadway in her own shows, toured extensively, and hosted various television programs.

Dame Edna was a guest on the premiere of Joan Rivers' talk show, Can We Talk?, along with Jim Henson and Kermit the Frog.

Everage's "manager", Barry Humphries, has voiced Bruce in Pixar's Finding Nemo, appeared in the Spice Girls' film Spice World, and Nicholas Nickleby. Edna has also appeared on Ally McBeal and made a cameo when Madeline Kahn hosted Saturday Night Live.

On The Dame Edna Experience, Rudolf Nureyev was a guest during the first season and had this exchange with the hostess:

  Dame Edna: Tell me your favorite partner. Who's your favorite partner, Rudolf?

Rudolf: Really, Miss Piggy.

Dame Edna: Miss Piggy? Well I've never really much seen the point of the Muppets. Is that silly of me? Perhaps it is. Call me old-fashioned! But I did love you on that show.
