The Cyclops is a mythical one-eyed beast, and one of the sons of Poseidon, as featured in The Odyssey.

The Cyclops threatens Odysseus' band, consuming one of his number. Only by blinding his eye can Odysseus and his men escape.

While unnamed in the miniseries, the Cyclops is known in the original story as Polyphemus.
