Croatia is a country in Europe. The capital city is Zagreb, which is not only the seat of government but of the arts as well.
Since 1972, when Croatia was still part of Yugoslavia, the city has hosted Animafest Zagreb (or the World Festival of Animated Film), the second oldest animation festival in Europe and one of the most important animation showcases around the world. At the inaugural event in 1972, Jim Henson won for best animated film which was part of a television series, for "Number Twelve Rocks" from Sesame Street.[1]
Dub Broadcasting
- The national broadcaster RTL Televizija airs Ulica Sezam, a Croatian dub package consisting of Play With Me Sesame, Elmo's World, Global Grover and Bert and Ernie's Great Adventures.
- Sezamkowy Zakątek, a one-hour daily programming block on the kids' channel MiniMini, has aired in Croatia since 2006, featuring Polish dubbed versions of Sesame Street segments and spin-offs. Sezamkowy began with the line-up of Świat Elmo (Elmo's World), Bawmy się, Sezamku (Play With Me Sesame), Globtroter Grover (Global Grover) and Sezamkowy Angielski (Sesame English). In 2008, Niezwykłe przygody Berta i Erniego (Bert and Ernie's Great Adventures) replaced the Sesame English dub.
