In "Who Stole the Count's Thunder?" from The Sesame Street Bedtime Storybook, it was revealed that Count von Count and the Amazing Mumford lived next door to each other.
Count Von Count's castle is the home of Count von Count, and location of many sketches with the character. A Gothic dwelling with stained glass windows, castle furnishings include the pipe organ and a sumptuous canopy bed, where the Count counts sheep. Other residents include the cat Fatatita and two thousand and twelve bats.[1]
In an interview on Leslie Mostly's show, the Count revealed his castle has 41 rooms, 27 chandeliers, 91 doors, 31 closets, 126 windows (most of which are broken), 14 stairways with a total of 301 stairs, 32 sofas, 27 easy chairs, 72,000 bathroom tiles, 22 soap dishes, 7 hair brushes and one fangbrush.
Outdoor views of the castle used in the late 1970s were shot on location at Belvedere Castle in New York City's Central Park.
