"Count It Higher" is a Sesame Street song about the thrill of counting, performed by Little Chrissy and the Alphabeats. The song featured the debut of Little Chrissy and the Alphabeats. During the song, the Alphabeats attempt to count several times, first up to three, then up to five. Finally trying once again, they count all the way up to ten.
Count von Count performed the song in the Sesame Street LIVE! show, Let's Be Friends. The song is a parody of The Isley Brothers' song, "Twist and Shout".
Notes
- In their first appearance, there are three Alphabeats (besides Little Chrissy) instead of two, and the two members who regularly appeared look slightly different: The Lavender Alphabeat has messy blond hair instead of smooth brown hair, the Green Alphabeat has spiky black hair instead of smooth blonde hair, and they both have wide, circular eyes and no eyelids.
- This song was later included in the Sesame Street Live show Let's Be Friends.
- On the "Count It Higher: Great Music Videos from Sesame Street" VHS, the video has MTV-style captions that refer to "Broken Records". In addtion, it was listed as number 1 on The Count's Countdown Show, because it was Count von Count's favorite song.
- Lyrics to this song were released on a songbook in the original release of the "Count It Higher: Great Music Videos from Sesame Street" VHS.
