Contender 980116 is a Whatnot interviewed by Lewis Kazagger in the "Muppet Sports" sketch on episode 319 of The Muppet Show.

The Muppet marksman made his way to the finals of the All Nation Goldfish Shooting Contest not through luck, but through his unwavering belief that his target won't have a chance. When the moment of truth comes, however, Contender 980116 aims his shotgun directly into the fishbowl but misses the goldfish entirely, showing that shooting fish in a barrel isn't quite as easy as the adage suggests.
