Claude Monet (1840 - 1926) was, like his contemporary Pierre-Auguste Renoir, a French artist of the Impressionist style. His series of paintings titled "Water Lillies" was spoofed in the Muppet Art: 1999 Calendar. Variations of his artwork were also included in the September 2005 issue of Sesame Street Magazine.
