Christopher Gattelli is a theatrical choreographer and director. Gattelli has been nominated for the Tony Award for Best Choreography for South Pacific, the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Choreography for Altar Boyz and is a Star Search grand champion.
Of adapting the show, Gattelli said the original television special was, "A holiday tradition at my house. I just remember bawling to ‘Emmet Otter.’ It was such a beautifully –told tale with great songs and strong character. I remember thinking as a kid that I’d love to do a holiday show like this someday.”
On Broadway, Gattelli has choreographed Martin Short: Fame Become Me, Stephen Sondheim's revival of Sunday in the Park with George and 13. Among Gattelli's other choreography credits are a benefit performance of Hair, Bat Boy: The Musical and tick, tick...Boom! (based on the life and music of Jonathan Larson), directing an off-Broadway production of Silence! The Musical (a musical spoof on The Silence of the Lambs), playing Pouncival in CATS on Broadway and the resident choreographer for The Rosie O'Donnell Show.
