Chris Renaud is an animation artist, designer, and director who was nominated for an Academy Award for directing the 2006 animated short No Time for Nuts, which featured the character Scrat from the computer animated Ice Age films.
Renaud worked as a graphic designer on the final season of Bear in the Big Blue House. He worked on subsequent puppet series It's a Big Big World (character design) and The Book of Pooh (art director for digital sets/production designer). Animation credits include storyboards on Robots, two Ice Age sequels, and Horton Hears a Who. He went on to direct Despicable Me, The Lorax, and The Secret Life of Pets.
