Christopher Lawrence Knowings (b. February 25, 1980) is an actor who joined the cast of Sesame Street in Season 38 as Chris. He received Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Performer in a Children's Series in 2009 and 2010.
Born in the Bronx, Knowings began his acting career at the age of 13, appearing in Spike Lee's 1994 film Crooklyn as Nate Carmichael, one of the principal characters. On television, he was a regular on the 2001 Nickelodeon series Taina as Lamar Johnson. Other TV credits include guest appearances on Law & Order, New York Undercover, and 100 Centre Street. His sister, actress Christy Knowings, has guest starred on Sesame Street, playing Chris' sister, Christy. When Chris gets turned into a horse in Episode 4238, Knowings provides the voice of a Muppet horse.
