Chester Rat works in Pete's Luncheonette with fellow rats Rizzo, Masterson, Tatooey, and Yolanda in The Muppets Take Manhattan.

Chester, who is sickly and always wears his scarf and sweater, first appeared when he and the other rats showed up in Pete's kitchen and asked him for a job. He was featured in the musical number "Rat Scat (Something's Cookin')."

Chester was later featured in the stage shows The Muppet Show: On Tour! and The Muppet Show on Tour: 2nd Edition, and made cameo appearances in The Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Classic Theater.
