Hi Scott, maybe we can reorder the international merchandise? Like sesamstraat and sesamstrasse does 1 rue sesame also a large merchandise as does barrio sesamo and Sesam Stasjon. If we then enter international sesame street merchandise, we can make categories like sesamstraat merchandise/ sesamstrasse merchandise/ Sesame street Japan Merchandise/ Sesam Stasjon merchandise and Barrio Sesamo Merchandise? The other countries can put under common international merchendise and su it would be easier for people who search for specific countrys merchendise? And for Discography we can make a subcategory for international Discograhy?-- Paul (talk) 23:22, 8 November 2007 (CET)

I think it's fine to have 1 Rue Sesame, Barrio Sesamo and Sesam Stasjon categories similar to the Sesamstraat/Sesamstrasse categories. Or for any other show where we have enough merchandise to make it worthwhile.
I'm less convinced about the need for an International Discography category, as Category:Discographies is still pretty small. -- Wendy (talk) 02:02, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Ditto Wendy on the international discography. Also, I don't like the idea of the category being re-organized entirely by show rather than by type. Sesamstraat and Sesamstrasse are different because the Wiki's coverage of them was and still mostly is more extensive than anything else, so the blanket categories were created with the appropriate subcategories to keep everything together. With 1 Rue Sesame or Barrio Sesamo, all I can really find is a lot of albums, and maybe one or two other items. I think this would be worth creating a sandbox page (not a category) first, just listing the items you have in mind divided by show, to make it easier to see whether there's enough items and enough range (i.e. is it just 4 or 5 albums and nothing else?) to make further subcats by show worthwhile. If the only merchandise is albums and maybe one PVC set or something, it would make more sense to me to just stick it on the show's page, or just create a subcat for the albums if really necessary (but I'm not sure how profitable that would be). -- Andrew Leal (talk) 02:48, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
I have a large collection of Barrio Sesamo books, games, toys didnt got far taking pictures of them soo far.. but I mean to. Also the same for the 1 rue sesame stuff. There are international Sesame Street book series sometimes 2 versions. Masks, playingcards, schoolstuff, plush handpuppets and boardgames, records.Paul (talk) 01:10, 9 November 2007 (CET)
That all sounds wonderful, but I'd rather wait to do any major category adjustments until you can get around to adding the other items. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 00:35, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Right now, I see a whole cartload of books and albums, plus at least 10 merchandise pages for Sesam Stasjon: Max Mekker Piggy Bank, Sesam Stasjon Bedding, Sesam Stasjon Breakfast set, Sesamplaster, Sesam Stasjon PVC Figures, Jul på Sesam Stasjon, Sesam Stasjon Plush, Sesam Domino, Sesam Stasjon Julehefte 1991, and Sesam Stasjon comic. To me this is a fairly large chunk of stuff and it's fairly hard to see it all in the current format; I would support adding Sesam Stasjon Merchandise in as its own category next to Sesamstraat Merchandise under Category:International Sesame Street Merchandise.
For 1, Rue Sésame, in addition to all the albums there are currently 4 merchandise pages: 1, Rue Sésame Puppets (Vicma), 1, Rue Sésame Squeak Toys (Delacoste), 1, Rue Sésame PVC Figures, and 1, Rue Sésame Dolls. This is more marginal for needing its own category but it's close.
I only see a few Barrio Sesamo things at the moment; until Paul adds more I don't think it needs its own category.
However, it is dreadfully hard to see what all we have for these shows in the current setup, or even to have a feel for how much is there; I think eventually we will want more sub-show headings. As I mentioned above though, I would put them into Category:International Sesame Street Merchandise and not here. -- Wendy (talk) 04:07, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
