I've been trying to correct a lot of these pages, and it occurs to me that many of them are just superfluous. In general, we try to avoid pages that just repeat information that's on other pages without adding anything new. Most of the information on these pages is already on the episode pages -- for example, the page on Sly the Crocodile just lists the episode number and the performer.
There are a few cases where there's more information -- Lydia the Ostrich has a nice picture, and Dave the Human is worth keeping just for novelty's sake. But for the most part, it's just episode, performer and a note about where else the puppet has been used, all of which is (or could be) housed on the episode pages.
- Sorry, I've been up to my neck in Muppet Babies records the last couple of nights, so I didn't see this before. It sounds fine to me, but I don't know much about The Animal Show, so I wouldn't know what's important. You might want to ask Andrew. I don't know if he's seen this, either. -- Ken (talk) 06:52, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
- I hadn't got around to replying. It's already happened anyway, but I'm going to go ahead and restore a handful, for which I have the relevant episodes on DVD, and can screengrab and expand later (just to make it easier, and three or four stubs where we definitely have the means to expand in the near future beats hundreds for which it's doubtful anyone here has the resources; most were added by Dean). -- Andrew Leal (talk) 07:37, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
I'm a bit puzzled. The character is listed here as Dunnard the camera-man-hog. But on the MC thread he was called Dullard the Aardvark. I would guess that maybe the MC thread got his name slightly wrong. But why is he descibed as a "hog" when even here (on the Wiki) in the character discription it says he is the same puppet as Arlene the Aardvark. Please could someone explain this to me. Thanks Emma 21:45, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- Emma, I'm not sure what you're looking at. The page for Dunnard says that he's an aardvark. -- Danny (talk) 22:23, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- Emma was referring to the character as listed on The Animal Show. That was an old redirect, which I'm preparing to delete, created by that one Animal Show crank with the multiple names, and whose info in general was unreliable. I'm reluctant to go just by a Muppet Central thread, but equally, it wouldn't shock me to find out Dunnard is completely wrong. If anyone on the Wiki has actually *seen* or can see the episodes with the character, and can vouch for his name, that would probably be our best source. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 22:58, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
We've been adding lots and lots of pages on these animal characters. Can somebody take some pictures for these pages? Right now, this is a whole lot of stubs, with no pictures and not many details. -- Danny (talk) 13:59, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
