Carol Hall co-wrote many songs for Sesame Street, beginning in the 1970s. She also occasionally lent her singing vocals to the show, notably as part of the ensemble of Anything Muppet women in "Women Can Be."
Outside of her Sesame work, Hall has had a long career composing for the musical theater and is most famous for writing the score and songs for The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. She also composed songs for Free to Be... You and Me and other Marlo Thomas projects (including Thanks & Giving All Year Long).
She is the author of the 1977 book I Been There and the 1978 book Super-Vroomer!, which were conceived by Northern Calloway and illustrated by Sammis McLean.
