Carol Hall co-wrote many songs for Sesame Street, beginning in the 1970s.

Outside of her Sesame work, Hall has had a long career composing for the musical theater and is most famous for her score to The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. She also composed songs for Free to Be... You and Me.

She is the author of the 1977 book I Been There, which was conceived by Northern Calloway and illustrated by Sammis McLean.
