- The Muppets travel to Hollywood, CA in The Muppet Movie. The Muppets Go Hollywood was filmed in Hollywood. The Hollywood Walk of Fame features stars honoring Jim Henson, Kermit the Frog and Big Bird.
- At Disneyland in Anaheim, California, Kermit and Miss Piggy hosted the Christmas Fantasy Parade for the 2004 television special "Christmas at Walt Disney World".
- Disney's California Adventure, at the Disneyland Resort, is home to Muppet*Vision 3D.
- MuppetFest, the Muppet fan convention, was held in Santa Monica in 2001.
- The state is home to SeaWorld California, owned by Busch Entertainment Corp., which is scheduled to feature Sesame Street attractions as of 2008.
- When Grover pretends to drive Gordon's car in Sesame Street Episode 1056, he visits downtown Cucamonga, CA.
- In a 2008 interview with Chuck the Movie Guy to promote The Muppet Show: Season Three, Fozzie Bear says that he's still doing stand-up, and he has to leave to go to a gig in Death Valley. "Oh, wonderful," Kermit says. "Nice audience."
- The second half of the 1997 film George of the Jungle, which includes animatronic effects by Jim Henson's Creature Shop, takes place in San Francisco. George makes a daring rescue of a worker stranded at the top of the Golden Gate Bridge.
