Byron Whiting is a puppeteer who performed on The Great Santa Claus Switch.

Usually working with marionettes, Whiting was a long-time member of Bil Baird's troupe, performing in multiple productions of Winnie the Pooh (at various times as Roo, Tigger, and replacing Jerry Nelson as Piglet) and The Wizard of Oz (the Wicked Witch of the West), as well as Pinocchio (the fox and others), Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves (Mahmoud and alternating with Baird as Casim), Peter and the Wolf (Humphrey the dog, the cat, and others), and the revue People Is the Thing the World Is Fullest Of. He played Heathcliff the horse (one of Baird's recurring puppets) in The Whistling Wizard and the Sultan of Tuffet, the title character in Davy Jones' Locker, and performed concert appearances by the Baird puppets with the New York Philharmonic.

Whiting has also been an actor in summer stock and regional theater, including a 2015 Tennessee production of 12 Angry Men.[1]
