Buz Kohan (b. 1933), birth name Alan W. Kohan, is a veteran comedy writer, producer, and composer who served as producer and writer of the variety series Our Place (including the Muppet segments) and co-wrote the TV special The Fantastic Miss Piggy Show. He also co-wrote the 1993 special Comedy Hall of Fame (with Miss Piggy as first presenter).

While Kohan has written for such sitcoms as The Odd Couple and Laverne & Shirley, most of his writing career has been spent writing material for variety shows, music specials, and most notably the Academy Awards broadcasts. He also supplied the lyric for the Michael Jackson song "Gone Too Soon," which was recorded on Jackson's album, Dangerous.
