Backstage, Kermit suggests that the band members come up with a name, and they suggest "The Grateful Dead" and "The Who".

Members of the group appeared elsewhere in the episode, including the opening with Gonzo and the opening in Statler and Waldorf's box.

One band member appears in episode 509, where he's referred to as Alexander Beetle.

The Bug Band members were performed by Jerry Nelson, Jim Henson, Dave Goelz, and Steve Whitmire.
