Bob Hope's World of Comedy

Hosted by Bob Hope, Bob Hope's World of Comedy (1976) included guests Lucille Ball, Big Bird, Neil Simon, Don Rickles, and Norman Lear.

To "co-host" the opening segment, Big Bird appeared, and the two traded quips. (Bob says he first tried to get Frances the Talking Mule and Jaws, but neither were available.)

Big Bird reveals that his mother was "a yellow-breasted hornswabble talking tiki", and his father "was a yellow-winged liver-lillied fender-bender." When asked by Bob what that made him, he replied "A chicken with a gland problem?"

The special has been released on DVD in 2007 as part of a box set, Bob Hope: The Ultimate Collection.
