Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy appeared on Bob Hope's annual birthday special aired May 29, 1978.

The three-hour special 75th birthday special was USO-based; pre-taped, it aired on his actual birth date. Sammy Davis, Jr., Ann-Margaret, Danny Thomas, Pearl Bailey, Tony Orlando, Donny and Marie Osmond, Kathryn Crosby, Dorothy Lamour, and Elizabeth Taylor Warner.^[1]
