In this children's book, Scooter tells Kermit that J.P. Grosse plans on closing the Muppet Theater because nobody except for Statler and Waldorf ever comes to the show. Grosse plans on making a final decision based on that night's audience. Meanwhile, Beauregard tells Kermit that he lost the key to the cellar, which is where the monsters scheduled to perform in the closing number are locked. Kermit goes searching for some replacement monsters. By the time he finds some, Beauregard finds the key, so Kermit lets the replacement monsters see a free show. J.P. Grosse calls it "the biggest and best audience this theater has ever had!"
