Big Bird presents Hans Christian Andersen was released thirty years after Danny Kaye's famous 1952 film Hans Christian Andersen. Big Bird tells several of Andersen's most famous fairy tales. Songs from the movie's score are performed by the National Philharmonic Orchestra, the John McCarthy Singers, and the Children's Choir of St. Clement Danes School. Oscar is also on hand to complain about everything, as usual.
