However, he is not a good player at first, and his violin makes annoying screechy sounds when he tries to "play." Everyone is annoyed by the noise, even Betty Lou can't stand it, although Oscar the Grouch loves Big Bird's "music." Eventually, Betty Lou tutors Big Bird in violin basics, and Oscar admits he liked Big Bird's screechy music better.
