Big Bird Joins the Carnival is a storybook based on Follow That Bird.
In this story, Big Bird plans on going to the local carnival, where he meets Sam and Sid Sleaze, who give him a chance to perform on stage at their carnival. However, Big Bird doesn't expect them to paint him blue and lock him in a cage. Meanwhile, after the carnival closes, Mr. Snuffleupagus (who the others still think is Big Bird's imaginary friend at this point) comes to the carnival and finds Big Bird in his cage, but fortunately Snuffy knows of a trick where he can take objects, like the Sleaze brothers keys, without people noticing.
