From Muppet Wiki

Big Bird Beep Books was a series of interactive picture books published by Western Publishing in 1989. The books came with an "electronic beeper" which the reader could use to answer questions.

Each page posed a question to the reader, which could be answered by touching one of the black spots printed on the page with the beeper. If the reader touched the spot corresponding to the correct answer, the beeper would beep.
