Big Bird's Amazing Dream is a 1987 Sesame Street storybook published by Ideal Toys for the "Big Bird StoryMagic" toy set.
In the story, Big Bird is bored with the usual goings-on in the neighborhood, and wants to do something extra special. When he goes to sleep, he dreams that a genie appears to grant wishes. First, he wishes that he is in a castle in the middle ages, fighting dragons, but then, is frightened by the dragon! He wishes to be back on Sesame Street, and then is given a crystal ball which will predict the future. Big Bird ends up not doing fun things because he sees things going wrong in the crystal ball. When he awakens, he learns to appreciate the simple things, and have fun, win or lose.
"Something To Do", and "Things Couldn't Be Better" are performed, both written by Dave Conner. Caroll Spinney recorded the voices of Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch, and Frank Oz the voice of Cookie Monster, for the accompanying cassette tape.
