Red and Wembley meet Skenfrith, a magical creature who appears to be whatever you believe he is. Skenfrith makes friends with the Fraggles, but when he hops into the basement of the Gorgs' Castle, the Gorgs think he's a monster -- so he becomes one.

Meanwhile, Doc tries to help Sprocket get over his fear of bugs.

• Gobo, Mokey and Boober do not appear in this episode.
• Ma Gorg is tougher than she looks. When her cowardly husband and son won't fight the monster in the basement, she goes downstairs to do battle herself.

• Despite Gobo not appearing in this episode, Uncle Travelling Matt's postcard still makes it in - recited from memory by Wembley.
