Bear, of Bear in the Big Blue House fame, made public appearances at a Chicago Cubs baseball game on April 26, 2002 and a New York Mets game on June 23, 2002. Bear greeted fans, interacted with the players and their families, threw out the opening pitch and performed additional on-field antics during the game.
