Audra McDonald (b. 1970) is an American singer and actress. She has won six Tony Awards, a record for any actor, for her roles in the Broadway musicals Carousel, Ragtime (originating the role of Sarah, co-starring with Brian Stokes Mitchell and Peter Friedman), and Porgy and Bess and the plays Master Class and Raisin in the Sun. She has also appeared on TV's Private Practice.
