• In episode 3932, the Amazing Mumford tries to magically transport Telly to Hooper's Store, but he forgets the magic words, and they end up in Arizona, among other places.

• In a Sesame Street sketch, the Readers of the Open Range help an illiterate town read a sign and discover that they live in Bisbee, Arizona. The stunned locals are thrilled, although they forget the name of the town immediately after the Readers leave.

• Big Bird conducts a child mariachi band in Guadalupe, Arizona for a segment of Wish You Were Here on Sesame Street (EKA: Episode 3012). • The Arizona Museum for Youth in Mesa hosts Jim Henson's Fantastic World January 1 - March 9, 2008.

• Sesame Street short films about Arizona include two Navajo children going to school (EKA: Episode 2932), another focuses on the life of Colleen (EKA: Episode 0815), and a third is a about a boy whose family travel with their sheep to their summer home (EKA: Episode 3055).

• A Global Grover segment features Grover returning from Arizona, where he learned about a family of sheep herders. (EKA: Episode 4055)

• Joan Ganz Cooney was born in Phoenix, Arizona on November 30, 1929.

• Big Bird visits Arizona and his pen pal Joey in the book Big Bird Visits Navajo Country.

• In the special Big Bird in China, Big Bird announces he's going to find the Phoenix in China. Grover remarks, "I thought Phoenix was in Arizona."
