In The StoryTeller episode The True Bride, Anja was an orphan taken in as a servant by The Troll after his daughter left. She had no father or mother, so the troll was her 'other.'

After the troll died, Anja lived in the palace herself and was perfectly content until the Trollop stole away her fiance.

Anja saved her fiance with the help of The Thought Lion.
