Andreas von der Meden (b. 1943) is a German voice actor who has dubbed Kermit the Frog (aka Kermit der Frosch) on Sesamstrasse, in The Great Muppet Caper, and in all specials, movies, and other projects following the death of Horst Gentzen (Kermit on Die Muppet Show). He also dubbed Tom in the first four seasons of Sesamstrasse, when the American street scenes were used.
Von der Meden's identification with Kermit is such that the 2004 German comedy Der Wixxer, a spoof of the German Edgar Wallace mystery films of the 50s and 60s, featured der Meden as the voice of "The Frog with the Mask," a Kermit take-off. His most recent portrayal of Kermit occurred in a 2005 BMW commercial, prepared specifically for the German market.
Von der Meden's extensive dub credits include supplying the voice of David Hasselhoff in most of his projects (including Knight Rider, Baywatch, and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie), Richard Pryor in Brewster's Millions, and LeVar Burton in the first (but soon abandoned) dub of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
