"Ah, For the Joys of the Countryside" was first performed on Sesame Street around 1976. During the song, a nature-loving baritone (Jim Henson) sings about how much he loves the country, without noticing that his flower-sprinkled surroundings are being converted into a city, complete with pollution and a "Bad Food" restaurant.
Trivia
Among the Muppets in the newly-established city is The Old Woman Who Lives in a Shoe, from a Sesame Street News Flash.
