Near and Far Episode 0057 Grover demonstrates the difference between "near" and "far" by running away from the camera and back, eventually fainting from exhaustion.
Monsters Look at "A" Episode 0083 Monsters, including an early Grover, Flute-Snatcher, Cookie Monster, Beautiful Day Monster, and Scudge, are looking at something. Baby Monster appears, and is reprimanded with "Eyy!" After a few times, Baby Monster turns toward the viewer and yells "A!", revealing that the group is staring at the letter A.
Monsters Whisper "C" Episode 0089 Monsters, including an early Grover, Cookie Monster, and Beautiful Day Monster, pass on the message, "See." The wide shot reveals that the monsters were whispering about the Letter C. Caroll Spinney performs Cookie Monster here.
First and Last Episode 0116 A group of Monsters, led by a hippie, play a game where they march in a line and then switch direction. Grover wants to be first and not last, but can't keep up with the ever switching directions. This sketch was later remade, with the blue version of Grover and with the monsters being replaced.
Seven Balloons Episode 0168 Ernie tries to count his balloons. The balloons are arranged in a circle, so he continues counting around the circle, and counts some of them twice. Grover has a solution -- he pops each of the balloons as he counts them.
Exit Episode 0261 Grover explains the word "EXIT" with Little Jerry and the Monotones going through the exit.
Monster Tug-Of-War Episode 0261 Grover demonstrates cooperation with monsters who are playing tug-of-war.
Search for a triangle Episode 0266 Herry first spots a rectangle. Grover tells Herry it isn't a triangle, and becomes fustrated. Next he spots a square, Grover tells him it isn't a triangle, and again is fustrated. Grover suggests that Herry cut the square in half and make two triangles.
Shadow Episode 0271 Grover spots a good-looking but somewhat scary monster, who seems to follow him wherever he goes. Grover is starting to get really nervous, when Herbert Birdsfoot comes along and says, "I see you're having fun playing with your shadow."

Three Monsters Episode 0271 Grover, Herry and a little pink monster rearrange themselves in different ways and count to three, until they get exhausted and faint.
Prairie Dawn Invites 3 Episode 0272 Prairie Dawn invites Grover to dinner, but Grover can't come without Herry, who can't come without Cookie Monster, so Prairie invites all three of them, until she learns that they are not cats.

Grover and Oscar's Alphabet Episode 0304 Grover gets Oscar the Grouch to join him in listing words that begin with each letter of the alphabet. Grover says wholesome words while Oscar uses insulting words.
Sound box Episode 0307 Grover has a box that can make the sound "ding-ding". However Grover can't make it to sound right so he attempts to fix it. When it's fixed and says "ding-ding" Cookie Monster comes because he think he heard the dinner bell ring.
Airplane Episode 0308 Grover uses his airplane to demonstrate "above" and "below".
Addition and Subtraction with Tangerines Episode 0310 Marty teaches Grover about adding and subtracting with three tangerines.
Help Episode 0334 Grover is carrying the word "HELP", which is very heavy. He asks Herbert Birdsfoot to help him carry the word. Instead, Herbert gives Grover three more "HELP" words to carry.
Surprise Episode 0355 Grover is going to teach the audience about "surprise" by sneaking up on Ernie. He sees Ernie sitting in his chair -- and he knows that it's Ernie, because he can see Ernie's shirt and Ernie's hair. Grover sneaks up to surprise Ernie -- but then it turns out to be Herry Monster.

Heavy and Light Episode 0406 Grover demonstrates heavy and light. First, he picks up a heavy barbell. Then he tries to pick up a light feather, but he can't move it. It turns out that the feather is attached to the top of Big Bird's head.
Telephone booth Episode 0675 Grover demonstrates how to use a telephone booth -- but it gets crowded when he receives a call for "Mondipoorg".
Grover is afraid of the dark Episode 0677 At night, Grover thinks he hears noises in the dark. When he sees a shadow on the wall, he cowers under the covers - but the shadow turns out to be his Mommy.
Here and There Episode 0678 A Hot Pink Anything Monster wants to know about here and there, so Herry and Grover demonstrate by spreading apart, each calling the monster over to their side. However, whenever the monster gets to "there," he always finds himself "here".
Beat The Time Episode 0684 Grover is a contestant on the "Beat the Time" game show, which is hosted by Guy Smiley. Grover has one minute to bring in five items that contain milk. They turn out to be ice cream, cheese, butter and two cows, all of which add up to five items.

Grover Climbs a Tree Episode 0693 Grover climbs a tree and finds a bird's nest with some eggs in it. The eggs hatch, and the baby birds think Grover is their mommy. When the real mother bird arrives, she mistakes Grover for one of her babies. She gives them all a flying lesson, but Grover promptly falls to the ground.
Four Grovers Episode 0718 Grover is astonished to find that the screen has split up into four Grovers.

Cold and Warm Episode 0719 Grover is outside in the snow, freezing. He knocks on Kermit's door, and asks for help to get warm. Grover tries to guess how he might get warm, but none of his ideas work. Finally, Kermit tells Grover that if he wants to get warm, he should stay inside. Excited, Grover pulls Kermit aside and slams the door, locking Kermit outside. Grover goes to sleep in Kermit's armchair while the frozen frog pounds on the window.

Grover talks to Frazzle Episode 0845 Grover sees that Frazzle is sad. He asks Frazzle why he is sad, and Frazzle tells him (in gibberish, of course), but then Frazzle becomes happy and tells Grover why, before growling and running away. Grover tells the audience that he does not blame Frazzle.

Sesame Street News Flash: What Makes People Angry? Episode 0869 Grover is one of many people Kermit tries to interview about what makes them angry. Grover is only too glad to see Kermit, but just like everyone else, doesn't have the time to talk to him just at present. Before leaving, he gives Kermit an apologetic slap on the back.

This segment did not start with the News Flash title card, but featured its theme music at the beginning and end of the sketch, and had an announcer referring to Kermit as a reporter on the street.

Grover and the Rowboat Episode 0877 In this three-part sketch, Grover and a group of monsters, including Herry Monster and Frazzle, get into a rowboat. In part one, the monsters all gather at one end, causing the boat to tip over. In part two, they gather on the other end, and the boat tips over again. In part three, the monsters spread out over the boat evenly, and row away.
Invention of the Wheel Episode 0898 Grover invents the wheel to help Biff move a stone up a hill.

Mountain Climber Episode 0949 Grover climbs a mountain and counts from 1 to 10 with his own echo.



The Number 2 Episode 1186 Part 1: Grover leads a group of people (including Kermit the Frog) in counting to two.

Part 2: Grover decides to ask people why the number two is their favorite number. However, Kermit's favorite number is 9, Count von Count likes a much higher number, and Sully just shakes his head when Grover asks if the number two is his favorite number.

Part 3: Grover gets Kermit, The Count, Sully, and an Anything Muppet to hold up a big sign with the number 2 written on it.

Grover reads "The Cursed Prince" Episode 1396 Grover narrates a fairy tale starring David and Maria. Maria is a princess and David is a prince with a curse that can only be broken by Maria's kiss, which turns him into Kermit the Frog.
Grover spreads Herry's alphabet secret Episode 1740 Herry Monster tells Grover a secret, which is the alphabet. Grover, however, tells his friends, and Herry acknowledges that while Grover is good at reciting the alphabet, he's lousy at keeping a secret.
Name That Sound! Episode 1858 Grover is a contestant on Name That Sound!, hosted by Guy Smiley. He identifies the first two sounds (a choo-choo train and a dog) correctly and in great detail, but has a bit of trouble identifying dripping water. Grover does eventually guess, but not until after the studio is flooded.

Library Episode 1858 Grover appears in a library to tell the viewers about what a library is. The librarian, however, keeps telling Grover to be quieter, until he can barely even be heard.
Grover and the word Walk Episode 1858 Grover talks about the word walk. He is accompanied by styrofoam letters that form the word walk, and they keep walking back and fourth.

Four Winds Episode 2040 Grover tries to ignore three monsters who look big and scary to him. When they notice him carrying a flute, they grab his attention and ask -- in what appears to be a threatening way -- if Grover wants to play. The three monsters pull out a clarinet, an oboe and a basson and begin to play, urging Grover to join.
Grover and the letter R Episode 2059 Grover demonstrates the letter R, which rocks, rolls and rockets away at Grover's command.
Body Episode 2059 Grover looks closely at your body.
First for supper Episode 2226 Grover the lumberjack thinks he is the first to arrive for supper, but he gets trampled by a gang of stereotypical French-Canadian lumberjacks who get to the food table before he has a chance to get his snow boots off. By the time he finally gets them off, a grizzly bear grabs the last plate of food.
One Way Episode 2282 Grover talks about the sign "ONE WAY." Making appearances include Guy Smiley, Gladys the Cow, the Willy Muppet and various Anything Muppets.
Ballet: Counting Battements Episode 2291 In this News Flash segment, reporter Kermit and Grover watch Suzanne Farrell do twenty grand battements.
Grover and the Butterfly Episode 2448 Grover sits in a park and recites a poem about a butterfly that he sees.

Detective Grover Episode 2620 Grover plays the detective at his office. A frantic city gent (Brian Muehl) rushes over to warn him about something that's bothering him outside, which, unbeknownst to both of them, turns out to be a very strong wind that blows everything away ... including Grover's office.

Grover's Health Minute: Teeth Episode 2682 Kermit and Grover talk about teeth. Grover notices that Kermit does not have any teeth at all, so he puts a pair of teeth in Kermit's mouth.
First and Last in the supermarket line Episode 2783 Grover waits in line at a supermarket. He generously lets two people go in front of him, but then explains that you can't always let everyone go before you, or else you'll never get to the register yourself. When he finally gets to the register and is first in line, the cashier says the register is closed. Grover considers following a customer to a pickle party ...
Dog Walker Episode 2786 Grover takes several dogs for a walk, explaining that dogs need exercise as much as people do.
The American Revolution: The Declaration of Independence Episode 3096 Thomas Jefferson has trouble getting a replacement quill to finish the Declaration when Mr. Grover misinterprets what he needs bringing a drill, and a chicken named Phil.
Grover and the letter G Episode 3156 Grover demonstrates the letter G, which grows and grows until it scares Grover away.
"Singin' in the Rain" Episode 3187 Grover acts in Prairie Dawn's new musical, where he sings "Singin' in the Rain," but he keeps getting the wrong weather.

Fifteen seconds to say an S word Episode 3723 Prairie Dawn gives Grover 15 seconds to say an "S" word, but Grover has trouble concentrating due to the ticking of the clock.

Away From Episode 3874 Grover attempts to demonstrate "Away From," but every time he tries to distance himself from a lamp post, the lamp post moves closer.
Surfing Near and Far Episode 3921 Grover demonstrates "near" and "far" while surfing.
Fifteen Seconds to Talk About Love Episode 3923 Grover and Rosita have fifteen seconds to talk about love. However, Grover does not think that they can talk about love in fifteen seconds.

Jungle Photographer Episode 3968 Grover is a jungle photographer. "Hold still, little tsetse fly!" he says as he clicks the shutter. "Thank you. I will send you a print." He tries to find an elephant to photograph, but he never turns around in time. Finally, the elephant takes a picture of Grover for his collection.

Emotional Music Episode 3975 Grover conducts a piece of very emotional music. That is, the music that he conducts changes, and his mood changes with it. When he's had all he can take, he steps out of frame to stop that cassette tape that has been playing.
Thirty Seconds to Demonstrate Surprise Episode 3976 Prairie Dawn gives Grover thirty seconds to show what someone looks like when they are surprised, much to his exasperation.

Grover's Monster Workout Video Episode 4083 Grover is a personal trainer and exercise with Bobby and Sissy. However, he gets tired from swinging his arms, running, and jumping up and down that he faints.
A's Anatomy Episode 4137 Doctor Grover stars in a spoof of Grey's Anatomy.
The Great Grover Episode 4141 Grover borrows The Amazing Mumford's cape to perform as a magician, with Chris as his assistant. Chris chooses a card from Grover's deck and shows the audience that it's an 8. When Grover guesses correctly, Chris is genuinely amazed. After a second and third time that Chris draws an 8 from the deck, he calls Grover on his "trick": every card in the deck is an 8. Determined to amaze Chris, Grover promises to turn into the number 8. When even "a la peanut butter sandwiches" can't help him, he makes Chris look away while he places an 8 on the table.


Full/Empty Room An Anything Muppet demonstrates empty by leaving his room, soon Grover and his friends including Cookie Monster occupy the room making it full.The Anything Muppet comes in and scares the monsters away leaving it empty.

Plumber Grover Grover comes to Kermit's house to fix his sink. Kermit fills him in on a demonstration of big, bigger and biggest when it comes to wrenches. Even so, the sink repair goes awry, and the house floods.

Mumford's Carrot Disappearing Trick Grover asks The Amazing Mumford if he could make his carrot disappear, provided that some smoke appears. Mumford performs the trick and Grover is impressed by the puff of smoke, however he fails to notice Mumford chomping on his carrot. Grover asks Mumford to make the carrot reappear, he replies that he can't because he ate it.

Monster Repair Team Kermit's roof leaks, and the Monster Repair Team, consisting of plumber Grover, telephone repairman Herry and a girl electrician monster, comes to the rescue. Grover fixes the leak, but he had to remove a telephone wire. Herry fixes the telephone and removes several electric wires. The electrician monster solves the problem; except she had to take away a pipe.

Front and Back Grover talks about front and back, but whenever Grover wants to talk about front, the camera suddenly cuts to a shot of his back, and whenever he wants to talk about back, the camera cuts to a shot of his front.

Grover's Health Minute: The Check-Up Grover goes to the doctor for a check-up, and describes to the viewer what the doctor is doing. Grover gets scared when it's time for a booster shot, but is so scared that he doesn't notice when he gets it.

Grover's Nose Grover sometimes imagines what it would be like if he had a very small nose, a nose so large that the weight of it knocked him over, or the trunk of an elephant. After his nose returns to normal, he wonders why he has a craving for peanuts.
The American Revolution: Crossing the Delaware It's Christmas Eve, 1776. George Washington and his men are preparing to cross the Delaware river, when Grover shows up with a bundle of balloons, noisemakers and streamers, since he heard this is the day they planned to "surprise the British." Washington explains that the colonists are fed up with the British always telling them what to do, and that his team intends to create their own country, and cross the Delaware to surprise the British in a different way: since it's Christmas Eve, the British have the day off, so they won't be expecting an attack. The river-borne patriots briefly pose for a famous painting, which Grover wanted to be a part of, but he literally "missed the boat."
