I've researched this pretty thoroughly, and as great as reference pages are, it's nice if they don't repeat what's already on other pages (Danny's used it as rationale for deleting characters and performers, so much as I love him, there's no real reason Boris should be exempt; also why I'd created [[Rudy Vallee Doozer]] but nothing for Vallee himself until we had something more, I think some of our present "celebrity references" pages could be beefed up in that matter). I'll do some digging in ''Babies'' (our best if not only bet, really, though I also have the complete run of ''Dog City'' just in case; there is a solid Peter Lorre in that show, though, which combined with [[Marlon Fraggle]], who has the voice and borrows from Lorre's "mad" persona, would make for a great page as is; the other possibility is if we get a lead on [[Uncle Deadly]], who isn't an outright impression but has similarities to my mind. I'll pass it on to Joe, maybe, who if he hasn't already was planning to interview Jerry Nelson. And geeze, I've trapped myself in these parentheses, haven't I! I keep going back and adding within them). We may have to un-redlink the Karloffian one eventually, but for now the links don't hurt. Voice impressions aren't the same as a visual caricature, since they can't be expressed visually (and in this case, it only comes from two extremely obscure characters where we're only relying on archival or the designer's memories), or a name drop or if the character had been called "Boris the Robot" (that would eliminate all questions). In this case, when we can't confirm the fact firthand, it's just possible, as has happened before, memories play trick or the character was intended to sound like Karloff but ultimately sounded more like George Raft with a headcold. So voice impersonations/influences are fun to note on a character's page but (unless a really major recurring motif, maybe, beyond question or with a quote about it) not enough to build a page on, but rather fun additions once there's something more solid (Danny mentioned it ages ago when I considered creating a John Wayne page based on a ''Sesame'' animated character sounding like Wayne; now, I have a Muppet Babies screengrab which I'll try to get up later today for you to have fun with). I've researched this pretty thoroughly, and as great as reference pages are, it's nice if they don't repeat what's already on other pages (Danny's used it as rationale for deleting characters and performers, so much as I love him, there's no real reason Boris should be exempt; also why I'd created [[Rudy Vallee Doozer]] but nothing for Vallee himself until we had something more, I think some of our present "celebrity references" pages could be beefed up in that matter). I'll do some digging in ''Babies'' (our best if not only bet, really, though I also have the complete run of ''Dog City'' just in case; there is a solid Peter Lorre in that show, though, which combined with [[Marlon Fraggle]], who has the voice and borrows from Lorre's "mad" persona, would make for a great page as is; the other possibility is if we get a lead on [[Uncle Deadly]], who isn't an outright impression but has similarities to my mind. I'll pass it on to Joe, maybe, who if he hasn't already was planning to interview Jerry Nelson. And geeze, I've trapped myself in these parentheses, haven't I! I keep going back and adding within them). We may have to un-redlink the Karloffian one eventually, but for now the links don't hurt. Voice impressions aren't the same as a visual caricature, since they can't be expressed visually (and in this case, it only comes from two extremely obscure characters where we're only relying on archival or the designer's memories), or a name drop or if the character had been called "Boris the Robot" (that would eliminate all questions). In this case, when we can't confirm the fact firthand, it's just possible, as has happened before, memories play trick or the character was intended to sound like Karloff but ultimately sounded more like George Raft with a headcold. So voice impersonations/influences are fun to note on a character's page but (unless a really major recurring motif, maybe, beyond question or with a quote about it) not enough to build a page on, but rather fun additions once there's something more solid (Danny mentioned it ages ago when I considered creating a John Wayne page based on a ''Sesame'' animated character sounding like Wayne; now, I have a Muppet Babies screengrab which I'll try to get up later today for you to have fun with).
